Today’s Activity: Diamond Art (Painting)

What is Diamond Art?

“Diamond painting (also known as crystal art) is the process of applying tiny resin rhinestones (known as “diamonds”) to a pre-printed design, usually an adhesive board to create sparkling, vibrant and uplifting pieces of mosaic-style art. There’s no sticky glue to deal with or mess involved as the diamonds stick directly to the surface you’re embellishing.

It’s a fantastic therapeutic hobby that promotes mindfulness and relaxation, as well as being fun and a great way to develop art skills. Placing the diamonds in the correct position is a calming and creative way to pass the time and with each jewel, you’ll start to see your artwork come to life.

And the best bit? It’s accessible to everybody, you don’t need to have any experience in painting to do a diamond painting. There are all kinds of designs from simple surface decorations, to detailed and delicate artwork. There’s also a project for everyone, diamond painting isn’t about wall art, you’ll also find diamond painting card kits, bookmarks and even fabric projects.” – via Prima.co.uk
