Rebecca's Artsy Paint

A variety of mountain landscapes painted by Artsy Paint

Title: Miracle Mountain Collection

Artist Description: ‘Miracle Mountains’ was the first time I was able to successfully paint what I had wished. This watercolor took me many days to do what used to take me less than an hour. Finishing this painting was a complete miracle that I could paint what I had envisioned in my mind.

Image Description: A collection of 20 paintings shown here as a five by four quilt of watercolour. In each painting, there is a mountain range. There are trees dotting the borders of some of the paintings. The colours are warm, earthy tones of terracotta, rose, plum, with greens trees in varying hues. Behind the mountains are blue skies, some with warm glowing sunsets, others with fluffy white clouds.

Creativity Still Exists Collection

Title: Creativity Still Exists Collection

Artist Description:

A Traumatic Brain Injury couldn’t stop me from relearning to paint and read. Creativity still exists but it was a slow process. I imagined it, prayed, and believed, ‘I got this!’ I was unable to read, focus, work, remember, problem solve, drive, cook, watch movies, or listen to music.

Miracles are real, gratitude helps, and small progress is a big deal.

My original watercolor paintings tell a story of hope, heart, and healing. The ultimate goal is to spread hope.

Image Description:  A collection of 15 paintings shown here as a 5 by 4 quilt in watercolour. Each painting is abstract, with splashes of colour. The artist uses blue, purple, orange, green and yellow in varying hues. Brush strokes connect some of the splashes across the painting as though implying movement.

2 Creativity Still Exists Deep in Me

Title: Creativity Still Exists Deep In Me

Artist Description: Creativity Still Exists Deep In Me was one of my first attempts at painting after my Traumatic Brain Injury / Concussion in a car accident. I was so frustrated I could not paint what I could see so clearly in my head. Not a single drop of paint after holding my paintbrush for hours. I didn’t try to paint again for months because I was heartbroken I couldn’t do it anymore.

Image Description: An abstract watercolour. The artist uses pink, blue, green, yellow and red. The colours are layered, delivering varied intensity of colour.

Title: So Hard To Slow Down Take It Easy, Take Breaks

Artist Description:  Someone finally convinced me to paint — trash I planned on throwing away. I ripped my paper into 4 small pieces because I didn’t want to waste watercolor paper on garbage.  Fortunately, I didn’t throw the painting away. What I had considered “trash” became treasured proof of my progress.

Image Description: An abstract watercolour. The artist uses pink, blue, green, yellow and red. The colours are layered, delivering varied intensity of colour.

Title: Brain Still Healing

Artist Description: Something magical happened as I allowed myself to be creative in ways I had never dreamed of. It took me multiple days to do what used to take me 15 minutes to accomplish. Also, I painted in the dark and couldn’t see the colors I was mixing because of severe light sensitivity. I needed patience, persistence, and flexibility to allow my creativity to exist.

I hope my paintings give you a little more hope, heart, and courage needed to live joyfully despite your circumstances. Follow @myartsypaint for more about my story.
