Art Series: Discover Portraits with James Okore

Welcome to a 4-Session Series, led by artist James Okore about learning the art of creating portraits.

This series takes place on Wednesdays in October, 1 – 2:30 PM

Session Dates

Oct 2nd: Drawing Facial Features – This includes both Male (1 set) and Female (1 set) features that will be drawn from simple shapes: the Eyes, the Nose, the Mouth, and the Ears!

Oct 9th: Drawing Male Portrait – This starts with simple shapes, proportions, and features!

Oct 16th: Drawing the Female Portrait – This starts with simple shapes, proportions, and features!

(Assignment to attempt to draw yourself, a friend, or loved one for Week 4)!

Oct 23rd: Critique, and a Brief Overview!

We welcome all BIST Members to attend this special art series.

Participants are encouraged to attend each session
To the best of their ability, participants are encouraged to arrive on time – though we will accommodate everyone

About James Okore:

James Okore is a contemporary interdisciplinary artist, specializing in portrait paintings evoking vibrantly impacting colourful brushstrokes with obscure surroundings in the styles of Realism / Surrealism, juxtaposing reality with mind-bending environments to challenge the perception of the viewer, which shines a light on the many experiences he’s had in my life, thus far.
