Patrick Brown was called to the bar in 1993 and is an owner and partner of the firm. Having practiced personal injury in Ontario for over 25 years, his cases have involved children, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, wrongful death, biking/cycling injury, boating, daycare and camp negligence, drowning, road disrepair, and motor vehicle collisions. In addition, Patrick has extensive experience advocating for those suffering from hospital negligence and medical malpractice.

He is one of a select set of lawyers who have been certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation, voted as a leading lawyer in Best Lawyers Canada, listed as Most Frequently Recommended by other lawyers in Lexpert®, and granted the AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale- Hubbell. Stephen Birman

Stephen Birman graduated from the University of Toronto law school in 2007.

Stephen joined Thomson Rogers as an Associate in 2009, where his practice has focused largely on personal injury litigation and class action litigation.

Stephen has successfully litigated significant claims as lead counsel in the Ontario Superior Court and at the License Appeals Tribunal and Financial Services Commission of Ontario.

Stephen is relentless in pursuing claims against insurance companies on behalf of his clients. Stephen was most recently successful in 2022 in a 5 week jury trial over long-term disability benefits in the Ontario Superior Court, where the jury made the largest known punitive damages award and aggravated damages award against an insurance company in a disability claim. Stephen was also the first lawyer in Ontario to receive a maximum special award on behalf of his client at the License Appeals Tribunal in 2017.

Robert Ben

Robert Ben was called to the bar in 2003 and is a partner at the firm. Robert’s primary practice is representing and obtaining compensation for victims of traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and serious orthopaedic and other injuries, as well as those who have suffered wrongful death. He represents clients throughout Ontario.

Robert brings a unique perspective to his representation of personal injury victims having spent the early part of his legal career defending numerous large insurance companies against personal injury and other claims.  That experience, together with his prior training as a social worker, makes him highly effective in maximizing compensation for his clients and allows him to appreciate the challenges and struggles they face as a result of their life-altering injuries.
